Basic Information
Limmud Toronto is an innovative, inclusive festival of Jewish learning that brings people of all backgrounds together to celebrate the rich diversity of Jewish culture and heritage.
Limmud Toronto is based on the Limmud model of cross-communal Jewish learning and grassroots volunteering that has inspired others throughout the world. Today there are more than 90 Limmud groups in 44 countries, in English, Hebrew, Russian, French and Spanish, with more being added every year. Although certain speakers were invited ahead of time, most applied to present during our open call period. In selecting the presenters, the programming team ensured that there was a wide range of views and opinions represented throughout the day. This included both leftwing and rightwing voices as well as secular and religious. The only requirement for the presenters is that their presentations must contain some type of Jewish connection.
The presentations are divided into different tracks which are grouped according to common themes.
